The original glass, which was already slightly scratched, was replaced by a new bonded glass with a thickness of less than
7 mm.Glued glass is nowadays the safety standard for windscreens, but in the 1950s-60s windscreens were produced
windscreens were produced using tempering technology.

That's the case with this Ferrari, which ultimately proved a bit of a problem. The original toughened glass was sandwiched between two aluminium frames and bolted to the body of the car like this. Legally, the frames here created a point
pressure on the glass. However, toughened glass has much greater strength than untempered glass and therefore
does not mind this pressure.Glued, untempered glass is now commonly glued to the bodywork.

Of course, this was not possible in this case to preserve the original appearance.
Any such insensitive modification would reduce the value of this prized car. In the end, we modified the frames so that
to make more room for the new glass and avoid contact with the frames. It was also not easy to repaint the outer
frame over the glass. It was ground down millimetres at a time so that it wouldn't be too short. In the end
, everything worked out and the customer flew in a private plane to get the glass, and the owner of this beautiful
vintage car was able to attend a race in Italy.
